Location
Cambria is located 15 miles from the Pacific Ocean, one hour north of Santa Barbara, in the heart of the historic Santa Maria Bench.

Vineyard
1,405 total acres planted to Chardonnay (1,130 acres), Pinot Noir (235 acres), Syrah (19 acres), plus limited planting of experimental varieties. Vineyard elevation ranges from 400 to 800 feet. Santa Maria Bench soils are composed of alluvial, gravelly and sandy loam, providing excellent drainage that limits vine-vigor. East-west running vineyard enjoys direct marine influence, providing a longer growing season than most Region-I vineyards. Average annual daily temperature is 64°F. South-facing slope creates optimal sun exposure.

History
Cambria Estate is part of the original Tepusquet Vineyard, planted between 1970 and 1971. The Jackson Family acquired the premium acres of the Tepusquet Vineyard in 1986. Cambria was established in 1987 and released its first wine with the 1988 vintage. Winery construction was completed in 1990 with an additional barrel aging facility added in 1995.
