The historic Tepusquet Vineyard is located in the eastern-most, warmest region of the Cambria estate in the Santa Maria Valley appellation of Santa Barbara County. The soil, once the bed of a prehistoric river, is sandy, porous and exceptionally well-draining, stimulating growth of fruit with dense, concentrated flavors. These conditions produce two exceptional wines, the Tepusquet Vineyard Syrah and the Tepusquet Vineyard Viognier. Maritime influences, brought from the Pacific Ocean seventeen miles to the west, cloak the region in mild temperatures that annually stay consistent — balancing the fruit's acid profile and extending the vineyard's growing season for optimal development of varietal characteristics. |
