The Wine Essentials

Whether you are a wine connoisseur or simply enjoy a delightful glass every now and then, there are a selection of essentials we suggest having nearby that’ll make your wine experience that much greater. There is no need to have an abundance of supplies, but rather think quality over quantity and you’ll be just fine.

When it comes to wine glasses, it’s best to keep on hand a set of red and white glasses to better enhance the aromas and flavors of the wine you’re pouring. Typically, red wine glasses will be a bit taller and have a larger bowl than their counterpart. Is it absolutely necessary to have both sets? No, but if you do plan on enjoying different varietals of wine and want to enhance the overall experience, then it’s probably best.

Wine lovers alike agree that allowing your wine to breathe before drinking improves the overall taste by enhancing the fuller flavor and smooth finish that traditional decanting allows for. Since most of us are not readily patient for that natural process to occur, they’ve thankfully created the Vinturi Wine Aerator to speed up that process by simply pouring your glass of wine through the aerator and right into your glass ready for you to drink.  Note: There are separate aerators for red and white wine.

Speaking of decanting, having a fabulous glass decanter on hand is a great idea when having guests over for a dinner party. Simply pour your bottle of wine into the glass carafe and set on the table allowing your guests to serve themselves. Plus, it’s accomplishing the task of aerating your wine and it acts as great table décor!

A few remaining essentials include a corkscrew, wine stopper, coasters and charms. While a few may seem self-explanatory, we find that having wine charms on hand for the impromptu dinner party really comes in handy when identifying your glass and with so many options on the market, you can really have fun with this accessory.

Cheers to a great wine experience ahead!
